Moab has some of the most breathtaking locations if you’re looking for towering red rocks and canyons. As your Moab elopement photographer and guide I’ll help you find the perfect spot your special day!
Arches National Park
Arches is a very popular Moab location and for good reason. surrounded by arches and desert landscapes it’s the perfect setting for saying I DO under natures’ very own wedding arbor. in addition to the beautiful arches the park has lots of hiking trails and amazing oppurtunities for stargazing. The park can get crowded so I would recommend a sunrise or weekday elopement for this location if privacy is something you’re wanting. the park also does have timed reservation entry during peak season from April-October.
Dead Horse Point
Dead Horse Point feels like standing on top of the world while you take in a stellar view from the top of a massive canyon mouth the point offerings views of Canyon Lands National Park, the Colorado River as well as Shafer Canyon all below you. Dead Horse is less busy than most Moab locations and is very accessible making it a great choice for couples looking for a intimate ceremony accompanied by a few friends and family members. Dead horse is a great spot for couples looking to fit multiples locations into their day as it is nearby other beautiful red rock desert landscapes
Castle Valley
About a half hour drive from town and less known by tourists Castle Valley is a perfect location for an elopement. whether you’re wanting something adventurous and with a few friends and family this location is iconic! with towering red rock, views of the La Sal Mountains, and the Colorado River. This location truly makes you feel like you’re the only two people on the planet as you walk the red dirt scattered with small cacti and sage brush when you think of a Moab desert elopement Castle Valley a top pick.
Goblin Valley
Goblin Valley is a very unique and different scenery with it’s odd-ball goblin rock formations called hoodoos the spot has been described as being Mars like. Goblin valley is a great choice for all eloping couples we could explore the valley and all it has to offer, hire a guide to take us repelling down into Goblin’s Lair – The “lair” was originally a slot canyon that became a cavern after a rockslide blocked its entrance, with light now filtering in through vents from above. Goblin Valley also has lots of BLM lands available for tent or RV camping a perfection option for those wanting to stay close to nature and to the location since Goblin valley is about an hour and a half from downtown Moab.
The Best Time of Year To Elope In Moab
Moab has become a popular locations for tourists but there are slower seasons to visit the area to avoid large crowds November – March have a slower number of foot traffic during the year so its easier to avoid onlookers. another good option is to have a sunrise ceremony if you are wanting to get wed during the busy season in Moab.
